After you have created a time sheet for a service technician, the technician can open the time sheet and fill it in with completed time entries. The next step is to reflect those hours in the completed service order. To begin this procedure, the time sheet hours must already have manager approval.

To make sure that time usage registered on approved time sheet lines is posted with the related service order, select the Copy Time Sheet to Order field in the Service Mgt. Setup window.

To post and register time sheet lines on a service order

  1. Open the service order. Update its status as needed.

  2. On the Lines toolbar, choose the Order menu, and then choose Service Lines.

    The Service Lines window opens.

  3. On the Actions tab, in the Functions group, choose Create Lines from Time Sheets. Choose Yes to confirm creating service lines.

  4. In the Qty. to Invoice or Qty. to Consume fields, modify the number of hours, if needed. By default, the values are set to the value set in the Quantity field.

  5. In the Posting group, choose Post, and then select the appropriate posting option.

  6. To verify that a line has been posted, you can see whether the Posted check box has been selected.
